Indoor Facility Allocation Policy

The Indoor Facility Allocation Policy was developed to ensure fair allocation of facility rental time in all Township-owned facilities.  The intent of the policy is to ensure that residents and non-profit organizations are treated equally and fairly.  For more information on ice allocation, please review our Indoor Facility Allocation Policy Fact Sheet.

CW Community Sportsplex

The Centre Wellington Community Sportsplex is located at 550 Belsyde Avenue, Fergus.  The Sportsplex is a community hub that encompasses two arena floors, one large community hall (with the ability to divide in half), weight room, fitness room,  two boardrooms, a mezzanine area and an Aquatic Centre. The facility offers free WI-FI.  The outdoor recreation facilities include sportsfields, a baseball diamondskatepark and tennis courts

Office Hours

Monday to Thursday: 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Friday: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Saturday and Sunday:11:15 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.

The Township of Centre Wellington has a variety of sports facilities, halls and rooms that are available for your next sporting event, fitness program, conference, banquet, tradeshow, wedding, meetings and more.

Sportsplex Hall

This air-conditioned hall is an ideal location for wedding receptions, dances and other special events and can be divided into two separate halls known as the Gord Brown Hall and the Unity Hall.

  • Capacity of 500 (400 seated, 450 chairs only)
  • Commercial kitchen (dishes, cutlery, pots and coffee maker available – no glassware)
  • Rectangle (8' x 3') and round (5') tables are available
  • Microphone, screen, podium

Gord Brown Hall & Unity Hall

Once divided, the Sportsplex Hall becomes 2 rooms called Gord Brown Hall (stage) and Unity Hall.

  • Half Hall 55’ x 65’ = 3575 sq. ft.
  • Capacity of 220
  • 175 seated, 200 chairs only
  • The Community hall is a non-smoking facility
  • The hall is air-conditioned
  • The commercial kitchen - dishes, cutlery, pots and coffee maker are available. There is no glassware.
  • Rectangle (8’ x 3’) and round (5’) tables are available.
  • Microphone, Screen, Podium
  • Free WI-FI 

Boardrooms

  • Boardrooms A and B have a capacity of 15 in each room
  • Free WI-FI

The Mezzanine

  • Capacity of 75
  • Includes kitchen facility (stove, fridge, and sink)
  • View of Pad A
  • No air-conditioning 

The Centre Wellington Community Sportsplex includes 2 ice surfaces (September to March). 

Pad A

  • Measuring 85 x 200' 
  • Seating capacity for 1200 people

Pad B

  • Measuring 85 x 190'
  • Seating capacity for 250 people

The Aquatic Centre

The Rotary Aquatic Centre is now available for private pool rentals. It features:

  •  A 25-metre lane pool
  • A warm leisure pool
  • A whirlpool


The Aquatic Centre can be rented for family gatherings, birthday parties, swim meets and other special events. Family gatherings are typically booked on Saturday afternoons.

The campground is located at the Centre Wellington Sportsplex and is available to be rented for large events.  The features include:

  • 256 campsites (242 serviced, 14 un-serviced) with wheelchair accessible comfort station 
  • Covered picnic shelter
  • Full size soccer field
  • Hardball diamond (with lights)
  • Tennis courts (with lights)
  • Playground

Jefferson Elora Community Centre

The Jefferson Elora Community Centre is located at 29 David Street West, Elora. The Community Centre includes an arena, hall and boardroom which are all available for rent.  The outdoor recreation facilities include two baseball diamonds, a basketball court and skatepark

This Hall is an ideal location for wedding receptions, dances, and other special events.

  • Capacity of 300 (200 seated, 250 chairs only)
  • Commercial kitchen (dishes, cutlery, pots and coffee maker available – no glassware)
  • Rectangle (8' x 3') and round (5') tables are available
  • Air-conditioned 
  • Wireless microphone, screen, podium, and AV projector
  • Free WI-FI

Belwood Hall

This unique and historic community hall is located adjacent to beautiful Lake Belwood at 37 Queen Street (corner of Queen & George Streets) in Belwood.  

This hall is ideal for family reunions, wedding or baby showers and other special events.

  • Capacity of 150 (100 seated, 125 chairs only)
  • Not air-conditioned
  • Kitchen facility includes fridge and stove (no dishes, cutlery or glassware)
  • Rectangle (8' x 3') tables and chairs are available 
As of Nov 2020, the concessions at both the Centre Wellington Sportsplex and the Elora Community Centre are not currently operating.  

Rzone - Respect and Responsibility Policy

The Township has adopted the Rzone - Respect and Responsibility policy.  The Rzone is an operating procedure that identifies a code of conduct which applies to all Township of Centre Wellington recreation and cultural centres, facilities, parks and programs.  The Rzone procedure enforces a set of expectations around violence, vandalism and inappropriate behaviours for participants and the general public.  To learn more, view the Rzone brochure.
