The second round of watermain flushing will take place from October 15 until October 18 in the following areas:
- Albert St, St David to Tower St, Angus St and Union St W, St David St to Tower
- Aberdeen, Riley Cres and McQueen Blvd
- Pattison Pl and Elkin Crt
In addition to the annual watermain flushing, the Township’s Water and Wastewater Services Department will also be performing testing on the water system on Thursday, October 10, starting at 1:00 PM. Similar to watermain flushing, this testing can cause water at your home to be discoloured. The discolouration is caused from the iron and manganese that are naturally occurring in groundwater. When watermains are flushed or systems are tested, the minerals that have settled in the distribution system can be stirred up.
If discoloured water is experienced, residents are urged to turn on a cold water tap nearest to their water meter and allow the water to flush slowly for several minutes until it runs clear. If after 24 hours, your water still appears discoloured, please contact Centre Wellington Infrastructure Services at (519) 846-9691 Option 2.
