Delegations

Delegations are individuals or groups requesting to speak at a Council or Public Meeting regarding an item on the agenda.

All persons wishing to speak at a meeting shall register with Legislative Services by submitting a Delegation Request Form no later than 1 business day prior to the meeting. If the meeting is on a Monday, the request must be submitted by noon on the Friday before the meeting.  If participating remotely, delegates will receive an email from the Municipal Clerk or Municipal Deputy Clerk with confirmation and instructions for electronic participation. The Township uses Zoom as it's electronic meeting platform.  A unique link with access to the electronic meeting is not to be shared with other individuals unless directed to do so. Please review the Hybrid Electronic Meeting Policy.

You may also submit the Delegation Request Form in person to Legislative Services, 1 MacDonald Square, Elora

Delegations are encouraged to provide a copy of their submission in writing.

Community Delegations

Members of the public who wish to make presentations to Council on their own behalf or on behalf of special interest groups or organizations are called "Community Delegations." Centre Wellington Council welcomes and encourages members of the public to comment on matters of interest to them.

Before you decide to appear before Council, you are encouraged to discuss your concerns with Township staff. If your issue cannot be resolved, staff will assist you with the process of registering as a community delegation.

If you are interested in addressing Council, please submit a Community Delegation Form. Should you wish to fill out a paper form you may submit this form in person to Legislative Services.  Staff will review your request and schedule a date and time for the presentation. The completed Community Delegation Form will become part of the agenda and all of the information contained in the form, including names, will be available to the public through the meeting agenda.
