Mayor Shawn Watters

Shawn Watters has been a resident of Centre Wellington for 31 years. Shawn lives in Elora with Deb and has two boys.  He attended the University of Guelph where he earned degrees in Political Science and Landscape Architecture.

In the private sector, Mr. Watters owned and operated a landscape architectural firm working in the golf design business with a specialty in course and resort development.  Local course design and redevelopment included Wildwinds, Pike Lake, and Doon Valley Golf Courses. Shawn was also a Senior Landscape design lead for Burnside Engineering for the period of 2018 – 2023.

Shawn was elected Mayor of Centre Wellington in 2022 and has also served various local and county councils over the past 25 years. Most recent Board involvement includes the Grand River Conservation Authority, Centre Wellington Hydro, Ontario Association of Landscape Architects, and Business Centre Guelph-Wellington.
