Filming Notice - Elora

Visiting the Municipal Office in Elora between Friday, April 29 and May 2?

We are excited to share that filming for an upcoming production will take place at 1 MacDonald Square on the following dates:

Friday, April 26 & Monday, April 29 between 7 a.m. and 11 p.m.

Tuesday, April 30 & Wednesday, May 1 between 7 a.m. and 11 p.m.

Thursday, May 2, between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.

 

During these times (Friday, April 26 & Monday, April 29 - Thursday, May 2)

Parking directly in front of the building will not be available.

Access to the building may be delayed, however, on-site crews will assist visitors.

There will be a complete road closure at 1 MacDonald Square from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Tuesday, April 30 and Wednesday, May 1.

 

Any intermittent traffic stoppages/control will be conducted under the safe supervision of the Wellington County OPP Service.

Film crews and Township staff aim to minimize inconvenience while ensuring residents, businesses, and staff can still access necessary services during the filming period. We encourage residents to visit the Municipal Office before or after the filming period; however, we acknowledge that some may need to access services, therefore we encourage you to plan your visit accordingly and take into consideration parking limitations. Once you arrive at 1 MacDonald Square, on-site crews will assist your entrance into the Municipal office - we are still open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. regardless of filming.

Civil Marriage Ceremonies

The Township of Centre Wellington offers three simple, Civil Marriage Ceremonies performed by the Municipal Clerk or Deputy Clerk. Services are held at the Municipal Office located at 1 MacDonald Square, Elora in the Council Chamber on Thursdays and Fridays from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm, or at Victoria Park in Elora on Fridays from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm by appointment only. Additional locations may be arranged at the officiants discretion.  Certain dates and times are not available through out the year including statutory holidays. No alcohol, confetti, bubbles, rice, candles or incense allowed on Township property.

All ceremonies require a pre-wedding consultation prior to the ceremony, usually arranged two weeks prior to the wedding date. Couples must come prepared with the following:

  • A valid marriage licence (may be obtained at pre-wedding consultation)
  • Current government issued photo ID
  • Payment for Civil Ceremony (cash or debit only)
  • Names & addresses of two witnesses
  • Any materials to be incorporated into the ceremony.

Victoria Park, Elora Ceremony $282.50 +HST

Alternative locations $395.50 +HST

Municipal employee witness $28.25 +HST per witness

All cancellations are subject to a $50.00 +HST administration fee.

Marriage Certificates can be obtained from ServiceOntario approximately 10 weeks following the date of marriage.
